FAQ

We do not take insurance since we prioritize giving our customers high-quality and timely care. Insurance usually does not cover for weight loss. We want to cut through the red tape of authorizations and restrictions. Therefore, our practice only accepts major credit cards and Health Spending Accounts (HSA)/Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) cards. However, you are free to use your insurance for lab work.

Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic. These brand name drugs usually cost $1500+ per month, and in addition, are widely unavailable. We offer the compounded version  (Semaglutide) at a cheaper cost. Semaglutide is an injection that helps the pancreas release insulin when blood sugar levels increase, which is needed for those with Type 2 Diabetes. However, the medication was also found to aid in weight loss by slowing digestion and making people feel full longer. It also helps curb food cravings, especially with snacking and night time cravings. Studies have shown a 10-15% weight loss from baseline body weight (an average of 33 lbs) over 68 weeks.

Semaglutide is a weekly injection in the subcutaneous (fatty) tissue, such as the upper arm, thigh, or stomach. We will review how to do this during your visit.

The medication dose is increased every 4 weeks until you reach the maintenance dose by week 14. It takes 3 months to see results, so it’s recommended to be on the program for that amount of time to see any significant weight loss.
